Those Darn Jumping Shots

I try to steer clear of trends. At least consciously. I know some things seep in, like cauliflower pizza crusts, homemade bread, and the "it's cool to not be cool" style (I have been waiting my whole life for that to happen).

On a whim, just before we left for Washington, I let the girls pick out their own outfits (mistake #1) and we went outside for some of those cute jumping in mid-air shots (yep, #2). Two things struck me when I looked at the photos. The girls inherited their mother's "it's cool to not be cool style," way ahead of their time. Second, they also inherited their mother's incredibly awkward jumping in mid-air poses (I'm sure you were all wondering why you haven't seen me in one of these silly poses. Well, the evidence bellow is testimony enough). The two at the bottom are especially enjoyable.

  1. Those boots...they are the exact same ones my girls want from Target. Livi wants the fireman ones & Audi wants Small Paul. I think our girls need to meet.

    1. That would be lovely! You know, I have always thought our kids would get along, too. We both have creative husbands, graphic design and photography stuff. That would be a kick if we ever ended up in a place living near each other! Too wonderful to imagine!

  2. Well they got Grandpa laughing. Lily and Addy need a little supervision in picking out their outfit. They remind me of you and Beka. Dad

  3. HA HA!! Addy's hair is HILARIOUS!!! Made my day! Oh, today I found the perfect game store for Stephen. It is called "Wishes" it is in the Everett Mall. Every game you could image! Every expansion for Killer Bunnies, Ticket to Ride, Settlers, Dominion, and the "C" game you always talk about that I can't pronounce or spell. It also has the coolest kid toys. We spent about an hour in there today. If you come up in the summer be sure to check it out!
