A Quiet Moment Captured

Sometimes, there are grand benefits to having a bed so low it could win any limbo contest hands down.

1. Easy to roll out of bed every morning. Literally. I roll out of bed every morning.

2. No need to walk around the bed to get to the other side of the room. Think of it as an obtuse rug, always wanting to be the center of attention.

3. Makes a great buffer pad for the girls for practicing somersaults and flips. OK, so it's not just for the girls. I just taught the reverse somersault roll to the girls last night. The expressions on their faces told me they thought I should try out immediately for Cirque Du Soleil. Yeah. I'm that good.

4. The girls read on that bed a lot. Just like this. I do find myself pinning away sometimes for a nice bed frame with a hand made headboard (like this one), but that day will come when it comes.

Thankful for quiet moments, and the knowledge that each day is a gift.

  4. Precious!! Reminds me of all the fantastic memories we made as a family because for the first 7 years of our marriage we didn't living room furniture...but we had toys galore, huge toss pillows - great for the best pillow fighting;), camp outs in wonderfully made tents and plenty of space to sprawl out for movie nights. Going "without" makes us thankful for the many little things and extremely grateful for when God provides too:)Hope someday the Lord provides the headboard of your dreams...we just got our first new bedroom set with a “real” headboard after 26 years of marriage - it was worth the wait!! God is soooo good! Tammy Kulbeda (I don't have an acct:) LOL!

    1. You know, Tammy, I remember you telling that story about the big pillows way back in our MBBC days. The mister and I have talked about it a few times since. We really do love keeping things minimal and simple, so no bed frame is not a big leap for us. But, yes, it will be sweet when God supplies something a bit more substantial. I will keep in mind that our heavily mattress (Sir Temperpedic) is about the most comfortable thing to sleep on in the entire world, so we are already beyond blessed! Love you, friend! Thanks for the encouragement!

    1. Right back at you! I was thinking, since you know Jamye, you should get Curt to let you fly down here for a week all by yourself and we could have such a great time! Heck, bring a kid or two! It would be super fun!!!!
