The Awesomeness of a Dead Battery
Today, I left my lights on while shopping at Target. See me and my girlies sitting in my car, without a phone, in the rain (thank goodness I had just bought some cereal). We prayed for the car to start. Somewhere in my mind, I had the thought that God would make the car start, just to show my girl how awesome He is. I was actually surprised when it didn't turn over right away. Nothing. Not even a hiccup of power.
Out of options, I put the hood up on my car as a signal flare for help, then asked the girls what should we do. "Let's pray again," Lily said. Good idea! So, I prayed that the Lord would send someone to help us out. Before I was done praying, a man was at my window asking if I needed assistance! Lily yells out in excitement, "Jesus sent that man to save us!" Ha! The man grinned from ear to ear when I told him what we had been praying for. So awesome. It reminded me about how good my God is, how much He cares in the little and big things in my life. On the way back, we prayed and thanked God for making our battery die, just so He could answer our prayers.
That was great. Love it when we have the chance to build the faith in our kids.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful moment!
ReplyDeleteSo glad that God provided assistance for you and that you made your request known to God first! Just as an FYI for future reference. Most stores will let you use a phone for a local phone call if you are stuck.
ReplyDeleteTHanks, Bekah! Worse case we were gonna walk over to your place and hope you were still home!
