The Checkered Path
Two nights ago, the mister and I were chillaxing, just enjoying the work of the day. He has jumped in and already put up half the fence across the back yard! His energy and determination always inspire me to work harder (Did I mention we are P90Xing it for the past week? Yeah, and he still finds the energy to put up fences, install kitchen sinks, and carry two girlies on his back around the loop!).
Back to chilllaxing. We were sitting there and I came across this photo on Pinterest (again) and showed it to the man. He said, "Let's do that tomorrow with all those random clay tiles!" Ummm...that would be AWESOME!
Mini Back Story-Our very old brick home was last owned by an architect from the 70's. There was a lot of miscellaneous stone and cement pieces left in large stacks all over the property.
With our inspiration firmly in mind, the mister placed a sweet checkered path from the playhouse to the cement walk off the back porch. We figured we would lay them out in the pattern first, then let them kill the grass underneath for our template. Once the grass is dead, we can cut out the grass from under the tiles and flatten the little hilly areas at the two ends of the path.
All those who love this say, "I!"
I ;-)
